UnboundQuests is committed to fairer economic participation for the people who create, shape, and help distribute African and diasporic stories. This Fair Royalties Policy describes the principles that guide how earnings and revenue shares are recorded, attributed, and paid through the platform.

This policy may apply to authors, co-authors, narrators, translators, editors, designers, illustrators, and other contributors whose participation is connected to works distributed or monetized through UnboundQuests.

It may also apply to editorial marketplace participants and other service providers where a product, project, or contributor agreement links platform revenue to contribution records or service outcomes.

We aim to support transparent attribution, traceable contributor records, clear revenue-share logic, and auditable payment records.

We aim to reduce ambiguity by associating works with contributors, royalty contracts, payment intents, entitlements, and settlement records where applicable.

We do not guarantee identical earnings outcomes across all creators or products. Earnings depend on actual purchases, subscriptions, unlocks, usage patterns, promotional context, agreed share structures, and platform economics.

UnboundQuests may support multiple monetization models, including full-book purchase, pay-per-read or chapter unlock, subscriptions, bundles, promotional or sponsored access, and other product models introduced over time.

Different monetization models may produce different revenue flows, settlement timing, and royalty treatment. The applicable contract, product configuration, or contributor arrangement will determine how attribution works in each case.

Creators and contributors may be associated with a work through platform contributor records, royalty contracts, editorial records, and other structured attribution systems.

It is the responsibility of the publishing user or authorized representative to provide accurate contributor information, role information, and revenue allocation details where required.

UnboundQuests may rely on platform records in effect at the relevant transaction or settlement time when calculating creator-facing earnings.

Where royalty contract or revenue-share structures are used, the platform may preserve a snapshot of the applicable agreement or contract state at the time of a transaction or payout-relevant event.

This is intended to reduce confusion, preserve auditability, and prevent later edits from automatically rewriting historical attribution records unless a correction process is explicitly applied.

Some portion of revenue may be retained by UnboundQuests to support hosting, development, payments infrastructure, editorial systems, content operations, moderation, discovery, and platform growth.

Payment processor charges, conversion effects, taxes, chargebacks, fraud losses, refunds, or other external costs may affect final net amounts.

Where subscription-based access is offered, creator-facing allocation may depend on the subscription model, applicable rules, readership or engagement signals, platform economics, and any creator program rules then in effect.

Subscription-based distribution may not work the same way as direct one-time purchase revenue.

If the platform supports wallets, vouchers, credits, or sponsored access, those mechanisms may alter the timing or structure of the transaction while still preserving an underlying attribution path where appropriate.

Promotional programs do not necessarily create the same royalty outcome as standard paid transactions unless expressly stated.

If a transaction is refunded, reversed, charged back, found to be fraudulent, or otherwise invalidated, UnboundQuests may reduce, reverse, hold, or offset associated royalty or payout amounts where legally and contractually appropriate.

We may also hold settlement during review of fraud, abuse, disputes, policy violations, identity concerns, or tax/compliance issues.

Payouts may depend on threshold amounts, valid payout method setup, tax or identity verification, account standing, platform review status, processor constraints, and the absence of unresolved disputes or fraud concerns.

Payout timing may vary by method, country, provider, and operational review requirements.

Creators and service providers are responsible for ensuring that information they provide for payout, tax, and compliance purposes is accurate and lawful.

UnboundQuests may withhold, defer, or adjust payouts where required for legal, tax, or compliance reasons.

If we discover a clear error in attribution, contract mapping, duplicate processing, payout classification, or settlement logic, we may make a good-faith correction to future or pending amounts, and where reasonably possible, to historical records.

Use of the platform does not guarantee a minimum income, minimum volume of sales, editorial selection, platform promotion, or audience growth.

Fairness refers to the integrity and transparency of the rules and records we use, not to guaranteed commercial performance.

We may update this policy as our monetization systems, creator tools, legal obligations, and marketplace structures evolve. Material changes may be communicated through the platform or other reasonable channels.
